In 1977, the movie ‘Star Wars’ came out and the world changed. The movie was an instant blockbuster and many people began their love for the ‘Star Wars’ genre. I was kid when I saw the movie and loved it, but I’m not a ‘Star Wars’ fan per se. The movie is amazing and the cast is too. Carrie Fisher as ‘Princess Leia’ gave many people crushes on the actress and for good reason. She was gorgeous in the movie! George Lucas did an excellent job directing the film.

If you’ve never seen the movie, it’s a must. Although I’ll admit that I only saw the original film and the two that came after it. Truth told, I’m not sure how many movies there are now! LOL! But, I do remember the amazing dress that ‘Princess Leia’ wore in the 1977 movie. And it’s now up for auction.

Propstore Auction will have the dress up for sale June 28-30. Of course, to get your hands on such a prime piece of movie history, you’ll need to have some serious cash. The dress is expected to go for $1 million to $2 million dollars. Crazy!

There are other items from other blockbuster movies that will be for sale as well. Some items from the popular ‘Harry Potter’ movies will be for sale. I’m sure not all the movie items will be insanely expensive, so if you’re interested in movie memorabilia, you can find out more info here.

May The 4th Be With You: These Are North Carolina's Favorite Star Wars Movies

May the force or 4th be with you. Droves of Star Wars fans celebrate Star Wars Day on May the 4th so of course we are joining in on the fun. One of the most popular franchises in cinematic history, Star Wars first debuted in 1977 and remains to this day a cultural phenomenon. The franchise now contains 12 films, a Disney + series, oh, and an entire land at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. So if you’re one of the millions of fans of the Star Wars Universe, I take it you probably have one or two favorite Star Wars Movies.

This is where I admit (and proceed to hide) that I think I’ve seen maybe one and a half Star Wars movies. And both of those were probably before the age of 12 so a few years ago! I’m slightly familiar with the original set of characters thanks to Star Tours at Disney. And I did experience Galaxy’s Edge last month at Disney World. Though I was certainly outside of my element. But perhaps in honor of this holiday, I’ll open Disney + and start a Stars Wars Film tonight. Should I go with the favorite? Or go in order?

Keep reading to see the list of North Carolina’s favorite Star Wars movies. It was curated by our friends at BetCarolina who graciously sent it our way.
