Husband Says Wife Does ‘Nothing’ So She Goes On Strike To Prove Him Wrong
A husband telling his wife she’s ‘lazy’ and ‘does nothing’ is usually a bad call. In the history of relationships, this statement rarely improves a marriage. And yet, a husband recently said this to his wife, and her ‘wife strike’ is going viral on social media to the tune of 15 million views.
Lindsay Donnelly went viral on TikTok with her clip about how she does ‘nothing around the house’. Her husband told her this. Not a smart move. According to Bored Panda, to prove her husband wrong, Donnelly really did do nothing for two days. Not only did she ‘strike’, she left and went on a girls trip. As you can imagine, the results left the husband apologizing.
Donnelly and her husband both work outside the home. After her husband made his idiotic comment, Donnelly stopped picking up clothes, doing dishes, laundry, and other daily household chores so her husband could ‘see’ how wrong he was. She says her husband Brian made the comment one night as he was cleaning up the kitchen. Donnelly was getting their kids ready for bed and when she came back into the kitchen, he told her she does ‘nothing’ around the house.
Instead of getting into a fight with her husband, Donnelly decided to show him in a humorous way how wrong he was. According to Donnelly, her husband is great and does most of the cooking at home. Since they both work full-time jobs, they try to split the chores equally. His comment was made when he was frustrated. After realizing how much his wife actually does, he apologized and cleaned the entire house.
Research shows that even in relationships where chores are split between a couple, the wife still ends up doing more housework. Wives usually do 2 more hours of caregiving per week and 2.5 more hours of housework per week than husbands. This is why a chore list and open communication are so important in a relationship.
Luckily, this couple has a great relationship, and the husband was just having a bad day when he made the dumb comment. He’s totally ok with his wife roasting him on social media.
