Star Spangled Sweets: Check Out Some Great Desserts For The 4th
The 4th of July is one of America’s favorite food holidays. Any cookout of party you go to will have an array of red, white, and blue foods. If you plan on going to a party for the 4th of July or if you’re having folks over for a bash, you gotta have some sweet stuff. Delish has a list of ’50 Best 4th of July Desserts’ and they look amazing!
I’m won’t go through all 50 although I’ve looked at them all and will give you a few that I think look great. Summer is berry season, and I’m a huge fan. Blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries…I love em all! The first dessert Delish has in their list is ‘Chantilly Cake’. I’ve never made this, but Publix sells slices, and it’s yummy! Cake can be heavy; however, this cake is made with whipped cream and berries, which adds to the ‘lightness’. Chantilly Cake truly embraces summer! Publix does sell whole cakes if you don’t feel like baking.
If kids will be at the party you’re going to or having tomorrow, cookies are a great dessert. Kids can grab one or two and continue playing. Very little mess with cookies. The Strawberry Shortcake Cookie recipe sounds tasty! Again, fresh berries are called for in this recipe. According to Delish, they’re a bit messy to make, but worth it. Kids will love them!
Boozy Cherry Bombs are just for the adults, and they are SO good! Catherine Lane from WSOC made these a few years ago and brought them into work. I had to stop myself from eating too many! There’s booze in these so I didn’t want to get a buzz at work. LOL! This grown-up treat is easy to make and your guests will love them.
There’s also a recipe for Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Cake that looks delightful! I love an ice cream cake! Looking over the instructions, it looks fairly easy to make. In addition, you don’t have to turn on the oven for this dessert. Score! It’s too hot for all that! Adults and kids will enjoy this one.
You can check out all 50 desserts here. Lots of berry recipes, popsicle recipes, and cheesecake recipes. Enjoy your holiday and happy eating! Stay safe!
