Expert Claims This Concept Can Help With Weight Loss And I Believe It

I spent many years fighting with weight. When I was 21, I worked out four hours a day and had 11% body fat. That ain’t the case now! Age, menopause, surgeries, and my own laziness had contributed to my weight gain the last three years. Now an expert says they have a way to help with weight loss, and it could work for me.
According to MSN, Richard Wisemen, professor and psychologist, is sharing that something easy could lead to weight loss. He’s claiming that by eating with your non-dominant hand, you’ll eat less. And if you eat less, you’ll lose weight. I’m not sure he discovered this idea, but I do know that Googling it you’ll find articles about this as far back as 2015.
Eating with your non-dominant hand will lead to slower eating. In addition, it’s more mindful because you’ll be eating and thinking. For example, if you’re like me and you’re right handed, eating with your left hand will require thinking. You’ll have to focus more on your coordination.
Anyone Else Think A Bib Will Be Needed?
I am not the most graceful person. I never have been. My dad’s nickname for me as a kid was ‘Grace’ if that tells you anything. In addition to being a bit clumsy, I’m also a bit messy. Not day to day and not in my house, but when I’m eating. If there’s someone who will spill something on themselves, it’s me. This is one of the reasons I don’t wear white often. It doesn’t take me long to ruin something with a stain!
All of that said, eating with my left hand will be a ruckus! I’m a mess using my dominant hand! Using my non-dominant hand will be a huge mess! I’ll need a bib! Trying it is a must though. I can see how this theory can work! Eating smaller portions is helpful when trying to lose weight, and I have a feeling that eating using my left hand will result in annoyance. Which will then lead to eating less cause I’ll be so over the mess!
Have you ever tried this? I’m gonna give it a go and I’ll let ya know! $20 I ruin a shirt! LOL!
North Carolina Ranks Dead Last In The Country For Vegetarian Friendliness
I know a handful of people in the Charlotte area who are vegan or vegetarian. And have some other friends that enjoy eating that way even if it’s not a full lifestyle choice. Personally, it’s not for me, but I respect people who choose that route for whatever that reason may be. And while restaurants across the country are overall becoming more friendly to dietary restrictions, it can still be hard to keep up a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. This is why our friends at WalletHub conducted research to determine the best and worst places to be vegetarian in the US. And of all the cities they looked at it was a North Carolina city that ranked the worst for vegetarian friendliness.
According to WalletHub, around 15.5 million U.S. adults are vegan or vegetarian. That is a significant portion of the country. Even still, it can be hard to find unique and interesting plant-based options on the menu or at a grocery store. And the last thing vegetarians want is to only have the option of ordering a salad. Overall 5 North Carolina cities were included on this list, and all five ranked in the bottom half of this list. To create these rankings WalletHub “compared the 100 most populated cities across three key dimensions: 1) Affordability, 2) Diversity, Accessibility & Quality and 3) Vegetarian Lifestyle.”
More specifically they looked st the cost of groceries for vegetarians, the share of restaurants serving meatless options, and salad shops per capita. Unfortunately, North Carolina isn’t doing well when it comes to vegetarian friendliness. I do have to shout of South Carolina who this week had the number one ranked restaurant for vegetarians in the country from TripAdvisor. You can read the full WalletHub list and methodology here.
