This Gravy-Infused Treat May Be Too Much For Thanksgiving
Phil and I have tried lots of interesting foods, and as gross as this mash-up sounds, there’s a part of me that wants to try it! There’s a new Thanksgiving mash-up and I’m not sure it should be a thing. Gravy-infused doughnuts are here, if you’re stomach isn’t scared!
According to Yahoo, spice company McCormick and New York City doughnut chain Dough Doughnuts are teaming up for an interesting collection of holiday-themed doughnut bites. The limited-edition mini doughnuts are available in three flavors: Cranberry Craze, Pumpkin to Talk About, and It’s All Gravy.
This ‘Holiday Bites Collection’ comes in a collectible tin. Each order has four of each flavor for a total of 12 mini doughnuts. It’s not cheap though. The interesting collection is selling for $69 plus shipping and handling.
But, What Do They Taste Like
We need to explore the three flavors as not all of them are gravy infused. Here’s the description of the treats:
- Cranberry Craze: a burst of tangy flavor from cranberry jam filling featuring McCormick Rosemary Leaves, a vibrant cranberry, and rosemary purée glaze rolled in doughnut crumbles and topped with dried cranberries.
- Pumpkin to Talk About: a twist on the classic pie featuring Pumpkin Pie Spice, Nutmeg, and Cinnamon in the creamy filling, a pumpkin glaze, rolled in pecan streusel crumbles and garnished with a meringue dollop sprinkled with ground cinnamon.
- It’s All Gravy: a Brown Gravy-infused dough with a maple cheesecake filling with notes of ground black pepper, topped with a brown gravy glaze, ground sage, and black pepper stuffing crumbles sprinkled with garlic powder.
As wild as it sounds, the It’s All Gravy may not be too bad! I’m in for eating a savory doughnut! I’m thinking Phil and I may need to try these! The limited-edition collection is available for delivery nationwide here. This may be a fun food to try with your family and friends during Thanksgiving!
