The Most-Searched Christmas Cookies In North Carolina And South Carolina
What are your favorite kinds of Christmas cookies? Mine are whichever cookies I’m given, but if I had to choose just one, I’d go with peanut butter blossoms with the Hershey kisses. Then again, I also love my wife’s Jan Hagel cookies with the almond slivers on top. Maybe I can’t pick just one.
A new study took a look at the favorite Christmas cookies in all 50 states this year. Food researchers at Menu Price compiled data from Google searches to see which cookie recipe reigned supreme in each state. The most Googled cookie recipe was gingerbread, taking the top spot in seven states, including South Carolina. The next most popular Christmas cookie was the classic sugar cookie, followed by Mexican wedding cookies.
North Carolina stands alone as the only state with Moravian cookies at the top of its list, but those are sort of our thing.
