New Biscuit Joint Opening Soon In South End And It Looks Amazing
Even though I was born and raised in Gastonia/Charlotte, I didn’t really grow up eating lots of Southern food. My dad is originally from New York, and I grew up with a British step-mom, so Southern cuisine wasn’t big in our household.
That said, I DO appreciate a good, homemade biscuit. I love Bojangles food, but I’m not a fan of their biscuits. Actually, I’m not a fan of any fast food restaurants biscuits. The only ones I have ever really liked were homemade ones that my best friend’s grandmother made.
BUT, when I saw the pictures of Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit I got excited! These biscuits look homemade and amazing! The restaurant is opening in South End on January 31. Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit, a popular Charleston based biscuit spot, will be at the bottom of The Penrose. The Penrose is a new 350 unit luxury apartment complex on Tremont Ave.
Callie’s offers savory and sweet biscuits and their creations look yummy! I love that they have different biscuit creations unlike any other place I’ve seen. The even have a “biscuit bowl” and you can fill it with grits. CARB overload! Yes!
