The Bachelor’s Rachel Lindsay Accepts Chris Harrison’s Apology
Following Chris Harrison’s Good Morning America interview, Rachel Lindsay had an interview of her own to share her thoughts on the matter. Lindsay says that she has accepted Harrison’s latest apology over their controversial Extra interview. She discussed Harrison’s apology on Extra.
She told Extra host, Billy Bush, “I do accept the apology, and I think it’s important for me to say that because I haven’t really talked about, you know, Chris and the statement because I’m not trying to make this a Chris-versus-Rachel, but … this isn’t the first time he’s apologized to me — he apologized again on GMA today and I do accept that and I think it’s important for me to say that because we need to move forward.”
Prompted to elaborate on what “moving forward” meant to Lindsay, “It’s bigger than just The Bachelor, it’s bigger than just a reality TV show. There are a lot of issues that have come up because of this interview, and I think it’s important that we continue the conversation, we continue to move forward. And I think that’s the best thing that we can hope for out of all of this.”
As we earlier reported, Harrison defended current contestant of The Bachelor Rachael Kirkconnell’s participation in an “Old South” plantation-themed college party in 2018. When speaking about the event that glorified the Antebellum era, Harrison asked, “Is it [not] a good look in 2018, or is it not a good look in 2021?”
To which Lindsay retorted, “It’s not a good look ever, cause she’s celebrating the Old South. If I went to that party, what would I represent at that party?”
Lindsay received backlash online after this, causing her to get off social media.
