Taco Bell Unveils Futuristic Drive-Thru Design
The future is coming and it looks pretty good. Well, at Taco Bell anyway. According to the New York Post, the fast food giant just unveiled plans for their futuristic new drive-thru design. Even the name is cool. They’re calling it “Taco Bell Defy.”
The new concept features an elevated 3,000 square-foot kitchen, four drive-thru lanes underneath, and a “proprietary lift system” to deliver food in a way that appears to defy gravity. You can see it below. It looks a bit like the drive-thru at a bank, but I’m more than ready to make a withdrawal.
Three of the drive-thru lanes will only be for customers who place their order through the Taco Bell app, which should make for quicker food delivery. Those folks will simply have to scan a QR code on their phone, and then grab their orders. Sweet!
Taco Bell plans to begin building the first of their new high-tech “Taco Bell Defy” locations later this month in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Their goal is to have it open by the summer of 2022.
