A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer Has Been Arrested
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has announced that one of their officers has been arrested.
The announcement was made on their CMPD has arrested one of its officers in connection with 28 felonies. Officer Matthew Porter also has been place on unpaid administrative leave. Porter faces 8 counts of first degree sex offense and 20 counts of indecent liberties.
The department has said Officer Matthew Porter, 54, faces 28 felonies related to sexual assault.
The victim, now 17, said the assaults took place between 2010 until 2013.
Porter has since been placed on unpaid administrative leave. He has been employed with CMPD for nearly 23 years.
