Get in the mood for Halloween with these movies!
One of the best parts of Halloween; getting ready by binge-watching all your favorite scary movies!
Here is a list of the top 10 Halloween movies you definitely need to watch before October is over!
1.) Halloween
- It’s literally in the name! This movie is perfect for the thrill seekers. If you haven’t already seen it, it tells the story of an escaped masked murderer creeping around the fictional town of Haddonfield.
2.) the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
- This classic is perfect for the whole family! It’s heartfelt, full of good friends, faith, and fun.
3.) The Haunting
- This one is a bit older but JUST as scary! It has all the great things that make a scary movie; sinister music, lighting, and special effects.
4.) Drag Me to Hell
- This story follows a loan officer who turns down an aging gypsy’s application only to face down a dark curse that threatens to steal her soul. Not only is this movie terrifying at parts, but it’s actually funny in parts too, so you get it all in one movie!
5.) IT
- Whether you opt for 1990 original or test out last year’s remake, you’ll likely need to sleep with the lights on after a viewing of this terrorizing tale
6.) Hocus Pocus
- This one might arguably be the most popular! Hocus Pocus follows three sister witches, who are accidentally resurrected by three teenagers on Halloween night in Salem, Massachusetts. The teens, along with a magical cat, stop at nothing to keep the evil witches from becoming immortal.
7.) The Addams Family
- Another CLASSIC! Who doesn’t love following the cooky antics of this gothic family?
8.) The Nightmare Before Christmas
- The Nightmare Before Christmas follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloweentown, on his quest to take over Christmas. It mixes the charm of Christmas with the spook of Halloween.
9.) Scream
- In Scream, a group of teens in California use their knowledge of horror films to outsmart—or try to outsmart—real-life killers. If you’re wanting to make a night out of it, watch all the franchise!
10.) A Nightmare On Elm Street
- The original Freddy Krueger film still gives a fright decades later. If you really want a serious spook, have a marathon with all the sequels, including the 2010 remake.
Now pop the popcorn and grab a blanket to hide behind, it’s movie night!
