America’s Got Talent Contestant Is Channeling The 80’s Hardcore And I Dig It
I rarely watch ‘America’s Got Talent’ but when I saw a contestant described as a “bikini-clad glam-rocker” I had to check the dude out. And I gotta say, I wasn’t disappointed! This guy has a big 80’s vibe and I dig it!
Bonavega is his name and I could totally see this guy making it big! Bonavega rolled out on the ‘America’s Got Talent’ stage looking like an 80’s aerobic instructor. He rocked out a sweet mullet, a sequined monokini, glam makeup, an a lot of energy! The judges thought he was a joke contestant. He wasn’t.
As the audience watched in awe, Bonavega performed an original tune titled “Overdrive”. The outlandish performer from Ohio managed to run into the audience, peacock-strut back and forth across the judges’ desk while slapping his own sparkly butt, and play a shredding electric guitar solo.
It was awesome!!! The crowd went wild — and, surprisingly, so did the judges, who unanimously put him through. Bonavega told the judges that he loves “performing obnoxiously” and he said that he will turn up his performances each week. Yes!
I’m a big fan of 80’s music and I love that Bonavega is throwing out that vibe! I also love that he’s not just a singer, he’s a performer. Alice Cooper and KISS are two great live acts not only because of their music, but because they put on a show. Fans are always entertained!
Bonavega doesn’t have the best voice of all time but he’s a great performer! You can tell he loves what he does, and that makes others love it. Here’s Bonavega’s performance from Tuesday and I’ve posted one of his videos for a song called “I Know You Want My Love” which REALLY sounds 80’s.
I’m interested to see how far this guy goes on the show. I’ll have to start tuning in! If you grew up in the 80’s, you’ll definitely appreciate the old school vibe!
