Children Can Fish for Free at this Monroe, North Carolina Private Pond
Some of my favorite memories are of fishing with my dad. We did a different kind of fishing though (since we lived by the beach) but boy was it always a rush reeling a fish in. Nowadays, I stick to fly fishing, but I still love catching big ol’ bass. If you enjoy fishing too, you can throw your line in at this Monroe, North Carolina private pond.
HollyDay Farms located at 1712 Ruben Road, Monroe, is a 2-acre pond that is all-natural and self-sustaining. In order to continue that, we are a catch-and-release pond only.
According to their website, the pound has sunfish, crappie, largemouth bass, bream, and more. The cost is $10 per person, with free admission for kids age 12 and under. One great thing is that since it is a private pond, no fishing license is required.
These are the current hours for fishing, but make sure to check the website for updates:
- September-November: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
