Several People Got Stuck On Carowinds Rollercoaster for 45 Minutes
This is my worst nightmare. Legit, it’s like Final Destination all over again. Friday at Carowinds turned into a terrifying experience after riders got stuck on a rollercoaster for more than 45 minutes. Riders were planning a good day at the theme park by then they got stuck on the Flying Cobra.
What is the Flying Cobra?
The coaster sends riders through a 360-degree loop and a cobra roll at speeds up to 50 mph. Immediately after these thrill-seekers catch their breath, fly through the entire ride again, but this time backward. The 125-foot tall looping coaster flips riders six times in total. At County Fair, guests can watch the Flying Cobras perform daring aerial maneuvers.
Carowinds released the following statement: “On Friday, April 29, Flying Cobras, located in County Fair at Carowinds, had an unexpected ride stoppage on the lift. The park’s maintenance team responded quickly, and at no time were guests in danger. All guests were returned safely to the station and unloaded within 30 minutes. The safety and security of our guests and associates is Carowinds’ top priority.”
According to the Carowinds website, rides are licensed and inspected by the North Carolina and South Carolina Departments of Labor. Carowinds’ on-site associates also monitor and inspect rides daily. Thankfully everyone was okay.
