North Carolina Man Wins Lottery On The Way to His Last Chemotherapy Treatment
Here’s a feel-good story to start your Monday off right!
Ronnie Foster from Pink Hill, North Carolina was on his way to his last round of chemo treatment for colon cancer when he made a stop and bought a $1 lottery ticket. After winning $5 he traded in his winnings for two more tickets. Foster scratched the first ticket and didn’t win anything. But then he scratched the second one. “I saw all those zeroes and I froze,” Foster said. “I didn’t believe it until I gave it to the clerk at the counter to scan. When it showed, ‘Go to lottery headquarters,’ I started shaking. I couldn’t believe it.”
Wouldn’t ya know, Ronnie quickly became $200,000 richer! Foster, a retired Department of Transportation worker, said that part of his lottery win will go to cover his medical bills and the rest will be saved for the future. “I was already happy because it was my last day of chemo. Winning this made it my lucky day!”, Foster told WCVB. Congrats, Ronnie!
