Honor Your Mom For Mother’s Day By Sharing Her Favorite Recipe
Many of us have a favorite dish or meal. And usually that meal is something we grew up eating. When we enjoy that particular food, we think of a simpler time or we feel comforted. With all that’s going on in the world, we could ALL use a little “food comfort” right now.
To celebrate your mom this Mother’s Day, the food website Delish is asking folks to submit one of their mom’s best recipes—or one from any mother figure in your life. Since we can’t see family right now, this is a great way to feel close to them!
Here’s what the site if looking for:
- your favorite recipe passed down from mom
- why it means so much to you, in 500 words or less
- some pictures of you and mom in the kitchen (optional)
You can email your submission to [email protected] with the subject line “Mother’s Day Recipe Video Submission” by Wednesday, April 22. They’ll pick five recipes and stories to share and turn into videos that they’ll put out the week leading up to Mother’s Day.
My mom’s Matzo Ball Soup is one of my all time favorite things. It ALWAYS makes me feel better, no matter what’s going on. My mom worked lots when I was a kid (my parents were divorced) and she didn’t cook lots back then. One of the meals that she did make us was salmon patties and butter macaroni noodles. Not my favorite meal, but it’s definitely one that I have fond memories of.
Good luck! Hope to see your mom’s recipe on the site! I think this is a great way to honor your mom’s food and share some amazing family memories.
