Prince Will Get A Customized Shade Of Purple In His Honor
Prince, dubbed “The Purple One” by his fans around the world, will receive a shade of his favorite hue created in his honor.
The Pantone Institute, which is known as the global color authority, has announced that it will create the standardized custom shade of purple as a way to pay tribute to the late star. The color will be named after the famous symbol that became synonymous with Prince himself. The artist had explained that the mark was unpronounceable, and therefore called it “Love Symbol #2” instead.
The special shade will take inspiration from Prince’s beloved purple piano. It was a custom-made instrument that he often brought on tour with him, and it was known to play an important role in his life. Once the color is developed, fans will be able to buy various products created using the shade.
Troy Carter, Entertainment Advisor to Prince’s estate spoke out about the news saying, “The color purple was synonymous with who Prince was and will always be. This is an incredible way for his legacy to live on forever.”
