Why Are We Always Sorry?
Growing up, I was the only girl in my family. I had three brothers, and a Dad that was tough. Not mean, just tough. I was definitely a tomboy as a kid. I’d fight with the boys, climb trees, play sports, and I hated wearing dresses. I had Barbie’s, and I liked them, I just was never obsessed with them. Barbie, just like the rest of us, has grown up. Barbie has a vlog, which I knew nothing about until today. When I saw the headline of this story, I knew I had to share it. As a 48 year old woman, I say “sorry” WAYYYYYYYYY too much! Someone can bump into me, and I’ll say sorry. I’ll walk out of the bathroom at work, and if there’s someone in the hall, I’ll say sorry. Women say sorry lots, and I don’t think we even realize it. It really has become a habit, or a reflex for women. After seeing this video, I became aware of how often I say it. And I think of myself as a strong, confident, somewhat successful woman. If you have a daughter, or if you’re a woman, take a few minutes to listen to Barbie. She nails it! I may have grown out of playing with Barbie dolls, but I truly may start checking out Barbie’s vlog. Solid advice!
