Bell Ringers Needed For Upcoming Holiday Season
The holiday season isn’t complete without bells. They’re an integral part of the Christmas soundtrack as well as a reminder to think outwardly and help others. That’s why the Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte has been ringing bells for over 110 years. This year, they could use your assistance in raising the money that provides critical services to homeless families and at-risk youth throughout the area.
The Salvation Army’s 2018 Red Kettle campaign begins on Friday, November 16th with the official kickoff ceremony at 11:00 AM at the South End Harris Teeter (2717 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28209). The Red Kettles will be set up at over fifty locations around Charlotte, with more across the metro region, through December 24th.
More than $300,000 were collected locally during last year’s campaign, thanks in large part to the volunteer bell ringers. Want to help? You can volunteer for four-hour shifts (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM), or adopt a whole day, Monday through Saturday. To sign up in Mecklenburg County and Union County, CLICK HERE. For information on the Red Kettle campaign in other counties, you should contact your local Salvation Army office.
