3… 2… 1… It’s Time For Christmas Tree Lightings!
The countdown is on for three big Christmas tree lightings this week.
First on the list is NBC’s 86th annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” tree lighting in New York City on Wednesday (11/28) from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. As always, it will be star-studded with musical performances by Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, John Legend, Pentatonix, Diana Krall, Martina McBride, Brett Eldredge, Albemarle’s own Kellie Pickler, and America’s Got Talent winner Darci Lynn Farmer.

Closer to home, Charlotte’s Uptown Tree Lighting happens on Thursday (11/29) from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in a new location this year. Instead of the Square (Trade & Tryon) it will be at 7th Street and Tryon Street, at the Charlotte Christmas Village. Brass musicians from the Charlotte Symphony will perform beginning at 5:30 PM. ACC mascots will also be there for photo opportunities. Santa will light the tree and stick around for photos until 7:30 PM.

Rounding out the week is the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in McAdenville, NC, aka Christmas Town USA, on Friday (11/30). The ceremony begins at 5:00 PM in front of the Pharr Family YMCA. A student from McAdenville Elementary School will flip the switch at 6:00 PM and officially start the 2018 Christmas Town USA season which runs nightly through December 26th.
