11-Year-Old Starts A Business While Mom Is Furloughed
This little girl is just awesome! 11-year-old Bella Berrellez, a fifth-grader in Gaithersburg, Maryland, has sold more than 500 of her handmade sugar body scrubs since in the last month.
Bella started the business when her mom, Jessica Berrellez, a longtime employee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), was furloughed.
Bella started her business to not only help her own family but to also help other families that are struggling during the partial government shut-down. “Bella Sweet Scrubs” has now been featured on numerous television shows, and Bella now has her own Etsy store where you can purchase her different sugar scrubs for $7 each. Not a bad price!
Bella, who is partially blind, recently donated $100 to Nourish Now, a nonprofit organization that collects food from donors like restaurants and cafeterias and distributes it to families in need. With this donation, over 200 meals were available to those in need.
I’m in total awe of Bella. Not only did she step up to help her family, but she’s also stepping up to help those in her community. Amazing! I’m definitely going to purchase some of Bella’s sugar scrubs! You can buy some too! Find out all the details about “Bella’s Sweet Scrubs” here.
Rock on Bella! Rock on!
