Missed ‘Hamilton?’ You’re In Luck!
The last time Hamilton came to Charlotte, you literally had to win a lottery to get a ticket. Either that or pay a lot more than face value to get one. But if you missed it last time, you’re in luck. Hamilton is coming back!
Blumenthal Performing Arts Center has confirmed that Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash hit Broadway musical will be returning to Charlotte but no dates have been set. The announcement comes after the Durham Performing Arts Center revealed that Hamilton will be part of its 2020-’21 season.
Last month, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center released its 2019-’20 Broadway Lights schedule:
Once On This Island (Nov. 12-17, 2019; Belk Theater)
The Play That Goes Wrong (Nov. 19-Dec.1, 2019; Knight Theater)
Roald Dahl’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (Dec. 10-15, 2019; Ovens Auditorium)
Come From Away (Jan. 7-12, 2020; Belk Theater)
My Fair Lady (Jan. 21-26, 2020; Ovens Auditorium)
Anastasia(Apr. 28-May 3, 2020; Ovens Auditorium)
Jesus Christ Superstar (Jul. 28–Aug. 2, 2020; Belk Theater)
Disney’s Frozen (Oct. 7-18, 2020; Belk Theater).
Based on the above information, it looks like Hamilton might not make its Charlotte return until late-2020 or early-2021. From what I hear, it will be worth the wait.
