Who Makes The Best Chicken Sandwich In Charlotte?
Ordering something as simple as a chicken sandwich should be a fairly straightforward proposition. But it isn’t.
When you think about it, you really have a lot of options. Do you want a fried chicken breast on a bun? Chicken salad on a croissant? Grilled chicken wrapped in a tortilla? Or how about a chicken Philly on a hoagie roll? See what I mean.
Here are some the best players in the chicken sandwich game, listed alphabetically:
Bojangles’ – On a biscuit or a bun, I love that Cajun kick.
Buffalo Wild Wings – With ‘Buffalo’ in their name, the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich should be good. And it is.
Char-Grill – Anyone who went to college in the Raleigh area knows about this place. There’s also one location in Davidson and they make my favorite grilled chicken sandwich.
Chicken Salad Chick – This Alabama company is on its way to conquering America. One taste and you’ll know why.
Chick-fil-A – This is Mel’s favorite. Impossible not to include the “Home of the Original Chicken Sandwich” on this list.
Duckworth’s Grill & Taphouse – They do the Chicken Philly three different ways: Original, Buffalo, and Fajita. Good luck deciding.
Lebowski’s – Two winners at this Dilworth destination: the Buffalo Wrap and the Anchor with grilled chicken.
Leroy Fox – Brandon introduced me to their chicken sandwiches. Start with “The Favorite” and make your way down the menu.
The Mayobird – Variety is the name of the game with their many different ways to order chicken salad. They’re all good.
Showmars – There are lots of ways to order a chicken sandwich at this Charlotte institution, but the flavor-absorbent pita is what makes it great.
