The Dirtiest Thing In Your Purse
This morning, Phil asked me what I thought the dirtiest thing in my purse was. I answered money, but I was wrong. There’s something even dirtier in your purse ladies, and almost all of us have this!
According to a new study, the dirtiest thing in your purse is your debit card/credit card. The study found that they are covered in bacteria. I guess I never really gave it much thought. My debit card IS all over the place…..as is everyone else’s. Think of all the places we swipe our cards.
The study found that debit/credit cards can be dirtier than a door handle at McDonald’s and a NYC subway pole. UGH! My OCD is kickin’ in.
You can clean your cards though, and it’s recommended. You can wipe them after every few uses with an antiseptic wipe to stop bacteria from building up. You can also use a damp towel on each card before rubbing the magnetic strip with a rubber eraser to remove dirt.
You can also place your cards in a UV light sanitizer. Not sure how many folks have one, but it can kill up to 99.9% of harmful bacteria hanging out on your cards. Good to know !
