Woman Quits Job To Look For Her Lost Dog
Phil teases me about being a crazy dog lady, but for some people, myself included, pets are members of the family. For some folks, like me, they’re my kids! Obviously this woman feels the same about her dog.
Carole and Verne King live in Washington State. They went on vacation to Montana and took their 7 year-old border collie Katie. Katie escaped from a hotel room in July while the owners were out for dinner. They think Katie was scared by thunder, and fled the hotel.
The Kings searched the hotel grounds, and found nothing. The next day, the couple continued their search, putting up fliers, knocking on doors and posting on social media.
In total, Carole King thinks she put up about 500 flyers in the town and surrounding area. She and her husband also brought game cameras and night-vision goggles to their search.
Carole refused to leave Montana without finding Katie, so she quit her job as a postal worker to continue the search for the dog. The dog was gone for 57 days. 57 days! Carole never gave up hope, and on September 15, she got a call, saying someone found Katie.
Poor Katie lost 12 pounds and was in starvation mode when she was found. Luckily, the dog was in good spirits and is expected to make a full recovery. I’m not sure who was happier………..Carole or Katie………..but both were crying!
More details on this amazing story are here. Bravo Carole! I understand that love! I’d do the same thing for my dog. So glad this story had a happy ending AND I hope the post office will give Carole her job back!
