What’s Really The Best Drink To Keep You Hydrated?
The next time you need to quench a mighty thirst, what’s the best thing to drink? As the old ad campaign asked, got milk?
It might be hard to believe but water is not the best option. According to a new study from St. Andrews’ University School of Medicine in Scotland, milk is even better for hydration.
To be clear, water is good. However, milk has sugar, sodium, fat, and protein, which cause milk to stay in your stomach longer, leaving you hydrated longer. But if you’re lactose intolerant and can’t drink milk, the research suggests grabbing a bottle of water with electrolytes instead.
One question: If milk is such a great thirst buster, how are we supposed to interpret this scene from Anchorman?
