Reba McEntire Signs Back With UMG Nashville
Reba McEntire announced that she will return to her original label home, Universal Music Group Nashville, where she spent the first 32 years of her famed career.
Reba said, “It’s a wonderful feeling to be back with the family where I started. A full circle moment. I am thrilled because my catalog is here at Universal, and I’m really excited to revisit all of the songs that I recorded many years ago and work with a team that’s so excited about my songs as I am.”
She added, “We’re gonna have a lot of fun. It’s gonna be very interesting to see what you can do with songs in 2020 as opposed to back 30, 40 years ago. I’m really looking forward to it. It’s gonna be exciting.”
During her time on both Mercury and MCA Records, two of the four labels that form Universal Music Group Nashville, Reba celebrated unprecedented success including 33 of her 35 career No. 1 singles and selling over 56 million albums worldwide.
Reba shared a video of her return to her Instagram Friday (2/21) posting, “Reba Returns to UMG Nashville. Made a little surprise appearance at @theryman yesterday to announce my return to @umgnashville!”
