Study: Rebellious Kids More Likely To Be Rich And Successful
Parents, do you have kids who don’t always listen or do what you ask of them? Do they talk back, give you lip, or otherwise sass you? Well, don’t worry about it too much. That rebellious attitude in your outspoken child might actually be a good thing.
According to a new study published in Developmental Psychology, defiant children are more likely to be rich and successful as adults. The study tracked 745 kids starting at the age of 12 and looked at factors such as family circumstances and status, intelligence, and their performance and behavior at school.
This study spanned forty years. Researchers found that the people who were more rebellious and displayed stronger personalities at a young age were enjoying greater success and higher incomes by the time they were 52.
Can you see your defiant child becoming a successful adult? I think there’s something to this study. Too much conformity can lead to a life of mediocrity. Sometimes you have to push boundaries to achieve your goals.
