Pancakes+Cereal=Awesomeness
I am a big cereal fan! I always have been. As a kid, I’d wake up early on Saturday mornings, climb onto the kitchen counter to reach the cereal and make myself a bowl. I’d then take my cereal into the playroom and watch cartoons for hours. I was a big fan to television as a kid.
Now that I’m a grown-up, I still enjoy cereal. Usually I’ll eat it for dinner since I don’t eat when I wake up in the morning. 3 A.M. is just too early for anything but coffee! As a kid I loved Cocoa Krispies, but now I find that they are a bit too sweet. Same with Cap’t Crunch Berries…just too sweet.
To avoid the “over-sweetness” I will now buy Grape Nuts cereal (yes I really like them) or Special K cereal and mix a lightly sweetened cereal with it. For instance, last night I ate Cherrios mixed with Blueberry Cheerios for dinner. Not too sweet and kinda healthy.
IHOP has now combined pancakes and cereal and it looks yummy! They’re serving up pancakes topped with cereal pieces like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Cap’n Crunch’s Crunch Berries. But we’re not talking about some dry stack of pancakes with some cereal bits tossed on top, they come with fun additions like “sparkle sauce” and “milk mousse”. These are for a limited time, and here are the combinations.
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pancakes – These come with cinnamon spread, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, cream cheese icing, and whipped topping and cinnamon sugar on top.
- Crunch Berries Pancakes – These are the ones that come with cereal milk mousse, blue vanilla sparkle sauce, Cap’n Crunch’s Crunch Berries cereal, and whipped topping.
- Fruity Lucky Charms Pancakes – They’re buttermilk pancakes with cereal milk mousse, vanilla sauce, Lucky Charms cereal, and purple whipped icing, too.
These things are gonna be SWEET but they look so festive! IHOP is also making two cereal milkshakes: the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the Crunch Berries. They’re made with similar ingredients as the pancakes and all these menu items will be available through April 12th. Check them out in the video. The Crunch Berry Pancakes are gonna be my first pick!
