Post Malone Is Letting Fans Determine What Charity He Donates To
Post Malone is doing a good deed, and he is getting his fans involved in an act of kindness. Per The New York Post, the rapper is letting his fans help decide where he will donate up to $1 million. Through the celebrity platform Community, he will donate the money to a charity of their choosing.
In a press release, Post discussed his reasoning for participating in this cause. “Not everyone has the ability to financially support causes that may be close to them or that have helped them in the past. The fans are the absolute best, and I want to give them the chance to give to charities that mean something to them.”
Anyone who wants to help the rapper decide where to donate can text him at 817-270-6440, his Community phone number. There are a variety of charities the money can go to, including COVID-19 relief, education, homelessness, hunger, mental health, veterans, and more.
As the New York Times explains, Community is a tech company in Los Angeles that has raised over $35 million to help corporations, stars, and other high-profile clients manage direct messaging with a mass audience. Ashton Kutcher is an investor in the start-up, and many celebrities like Scooter Braun, Diddy, Sophia Bush, and Paul McCartney have been involved in it.
