Statesville Sock Manufacturer Shifts Production To Protective Masks
If you’ve ever owned a pair of Thorlo socks, you know they’re probably the most comfortable socks you can buy. They’re the only socks I wear for hiking and winter sports. Did you know Thorlos are made right here in North Carolina? The Statesville-based company has now joined the fight against COVID-19 by adjusting its operations to make protective face masks.
Using their sock-making expertise and FDA-registered manufacturing facilities, Thorlo is producing a line of masks called Face Tek. According to the company, the masks are made with CuTEC copper ion technology, offering anti-odor and anti-microbial properties for improved hygiene and skin appearance.
Not only do the new masks provide the public with much needed personal protective equipment, but this shift in production has kept Thorlo’s factory running and its employees working.
Initially, Face Tek masks are being offered only in black. But hey, black goes with everything.

Face Tek masks are available online or by calling 1-888-846-7567. They cost $12.99 each and the price drops when you order multi-packs. If you purchase online and use the code DONATE4ME, Thorlo will also send a free pair of 12-Hour Shift Socks to a frontline healthcare hero. Those socks are specifically designed for people who stand for long periods of time. You know, like nurses and doctors.
