City Of Charlotte To Resume Yard Waste And Bulk Item Collection On June 1st
If you’ve been doing more spring cleaning and yard work than you ever have before because of all the time you’ve been spending at home, you’ve been waiting for this good news. The City of Charlotte has announced that yard waste and bulk item collection services will resume on Monday, June 1st.
Solid Waste Services suspended those services in March until proper personal protection equipment could be secured for employees. Trucks also had to be retrofitted to meet social distancing requirements.
Here are a few things to remember before putting anything at the curb for pick up:
- Yard waste will be collected on the same day as garbage and recycling.
- Place properly bagged or bundled yard waste at the curb on your regular collection day.
- Bulk item collection must be scheduled in advance online or by calling CharMeck 311 (704-336-7600).
I have a big pile of yard debris waiting to be hauled off. My wife will be very happy to see it go away.
