Dan + Shay Dan Smyers Plays Every Instrument On New Song
On the heels of releasing their self recorded and produced new single “I Should Probably Go To Bed,” Dan Smyers is celebrating his 33rd birthday today (8/16).
Dan told us of recording every instrument that appears on the new song himself, “In these times, all the big studios were closed in Nashville and it was tough to get all the premier musicians to work in Nashville. So it was just like, all right, let’s take it up.”
He continued, “I recorded the piano first and it was like, okay, cool. I think we should put some percussion on or I think we should put this in there. I play an acoustic guitar and before you know, I say before you know it, it was probably a few weeks of work and it really grind it out over the details. But it came together.”
