NoDa is Getting Distillery!
It seems only fair that “Jack Daniel” would very much be interested in a new distillery coming to NODA.
Please give it up for your “headliner” GREAT WAGON ROAD DISTILLERY. The distillery has been around for a while located in South End near Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. At that time, N.C. law dictated that the distillery remain separate from its very popular cocktail bar “The Broken Spoke”.
Now, all that is changing as both will be under the same roof in the former Bold Missy Brewery in NoDa. Owner Ollie Mulligan (hard to get more Irish than that) hopes for a “soft opening” right after Labor Day around September 9. He said he has signed a 20-year lease with the option to buy so except for an occasional visit to his native Ireland, it looks likes he plans to be here a long time.
Mulligan hopes to educate patrons on the benefits of “local whiskeys.” GWR will be located at 610 Anderson Street in NoDa! Please support them!
