Reba On Her TV Habits: ‘I Choose Not To Watch The News’
Between the pandemic and the social unrest in our country, it gets hard to watch the news. And Reba tells us that she has had to change her TV watching habits as of late.
We asked her about all the stuff going on in the world and how she’s handling it and she said, “You talking ’bout the news? I don’t watch the news. I watched five minutes of it last night (9/2) and I got so depressed. I just don’t understand, so I choose not to watch the news. I bet I’ve watched fifteen minutes of news since the pandemic hit.”
She then added joked that she thinks she should remake the Anne Murray song that was a big hit from the 1980’s called “A Little Good News.”
As for how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected her, she offered, “Yeah I think it’s changed me. I think it’s first of all slowed me down. I go 900 miles an hour, all day long. I’m exhausted when I lay down and I sleep really well. But I love life and I enjoy doing what I do so I just re-channeled that to try to be more creative. I’ve even written a few songs. So, it’s getting out in nature and enjoying what God’s given us.”
Reba is working on a new album of new songs and she says that the year we’ve had will influence the music. She said, “Yeah, how you’re feeling at the time is what will appeal to you. If you’re broken hearted well of course broken hearted songs will appeal to you and if you’re happy and in love and enjoying life well. that kind of song will appeal to you more.”
She adds, “I think the album is a good mixture but it’s probably an album that’s got more happy songs than the Rumor Has It album. The one I’m gonna do right now is a happier album.”
Reba is re-releasing her Rumor Has It album on September 11, 2020 for its 30th anniversary.
