Caribbean Islands Inviting You To Set Up Your Remote Office In Paradise
Have you been working from home since the pandemic shut so many offices down? If you’re tired of staring at the same four walls every day, a change of scenery might be exactly what you need. Instead of Zoom meetings in your laundry room, why not make those calls from paradise?
Some Caribbean islands are inviting remote workers to telecommute from their beautiful beaches. Yahoo! reports that the nation of Antigua and Barbuda is now offering a “Nomad Digital Residence” visa, which will allow eligible remote workers to stay on the islands for up to two years. It’ll cost you $1,500 to apply for the visa ($2,000 for couples; $3,000 for families), and you must earn at least $50,000 a year to be eligible.
Antigua and Barbuda aren’t the first Caribbean islands to make such an offer. Earlier this year, Barbados and Bermuda also offered year-long visas to remote workers. Somebody give me a microphone and a pair of flip-flops!
