Luke Combs Would ‘Love’ To Host SNL One Day
Luke Combs is one of only five country artists (including Blake Shelton and Thomas Rhett) in the last five years that has been a musical guest on Saturday Night Live and that isn’t lost on him.
Luke tells us of the SNL experience from January of 2020, “It was a huge deal. I grew up watching SNL with my dad every Saturday and I’ve been a huge fan ever since I can remember. So getting to be on there was a dream come true. I got to bring my parents up and they got to sit in the audience and watch the show and kind of tool around backstage with me a little bit.”
He continued, “Everyone backstage was so great. Their crew is so great and I always think that the reason those shows are around so long is because everybody that works there is awesome. And I can tell you that SNL is that experience in a nutshell from Loren (Michaels) all the way down to the lowest intern in the in the group. Everyone was amazing to work with, super professional, super nice, super accommodating.”
Combs says the vibe there is very welcoming, saying, “It wasn’t an intimidating atmosphere at all, even though you can kind of imagine that it would be a little bit because it is so fast paced, it is such a big deal. They make you feel right at home and I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
Luke would even like to host one day. He said, “I would honestly love to host an entire episode. I think that would be fantastic. You know, I think that would be really fun. I don’t know if they do that with country singers or not but I’m right here if they’re looking.”
