“Snowpiercer” on TNT Great Follow-up to The Film
Being a Sci-Fi fan, I saw “Snowpiercer” when it was released in 2013 with Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt and Ed Harris. The story is that in the not too distant future a climate change experiment to correct global warming backfires and creates another ice age. A wealthy industrialist created a super train over 1,000 cars long that as long as it keeps going, can sustain the inhabitants who could afford a ticket. As the train is departing with the survivors of humanity, people without tickets storm the rear of the train fighting for survival. These people are allowed to remain and over the course of 7 years, a class struggle exists aboard “Snowpiercer”. Great movie!
Now, enter TNT with their episodic take on this concept. Through no fault of the movie, it was a beginning, middle & end type of story. Snowpiercer on TNT, because it’s episodic and season 2 just premiered, can go in depth on the characters, the story and demonstrate the on board class struggle with creative license along the way.
Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs head a cast of great actors that take the story of Snowpiercer to new heights. Sean Bean joins the cast in season 2 as the mysterious industrialist Mr. Wilford.
