Justin Bieber Announces Upcoming Album, ‘Justice’
A few days before his 27th birthday, Justin Bieber posted on his socials for the release of his sixth studio album, Justice.
In a In a time when there’s so much wrong with this broken planet we all crave healing and justice for humanity. In creating this album my goal is to make music that will provide comfort, to make songs that people can relate to and connect to so they feel less alone
“In a time when there’s so much wrong with this broken planet we all crave healing and justice for humanity. In creating this album my goal is to make music that will provide comfort, to make songs that people can relate to and connect to so they feel less alone.”
He goes on to say, “This is me doing a small part. My part. I want to continue the conversation of what justice looks like so we can continue to heal.”
Earlier today, he posted a teaser on Instagram for “Hold On,” possibly one of the tracks on the upcoming album. A full tracklist for the record has yet to be announced, but Bieber’s three most recent solo songs will be included on Justice: “Holy,” featuring Chance the Rapper; “Lonely,” featuring Benny Blanco; and “Anyone,” according to Rolling Stone.
Bieber’s previous album, Changes was released last Valentine’s Day, earning a few Grammy nominations for the pop category. He voiced his displeasure in an Instagram post, captioning the notes screenshot: “Please don’t mistake this as me being ungrateful, these are just my thoughts take em or leave em. Thank you to the people who fought for me to even have any noms.”
The post read: “To the Grammys I am flattered to be acknowledged and appreciated for my artistry. I am very meticulous and intentional about my music. With that being said I set out to make an R&B album. Changes was and is an R&B album. It is not being acknowledged as an R&B album which is very strange to me. I grew up admiring R&B music and wished to make a project that would embody that sound.”
Justice is due out on March 19.
