More Guest Hosts Coming To ‘Jeopardy!’
Okay fellow Jeopardy! fans, it’s time to review the guest host situation. Ken Jennings, Mike Richards, Katie Couric, Dr. Oz, and Aaron Rodgers have all stood behind the late Alex Trebek’s podium. Who has been your favorite so far? Here’s how I rank them:
Mike Richards has clearly been the best of the bunch. But would he want the job permanently? He’s also the executive producer of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Katie Couric was good but she says she has enough projects on her plate and doesn’t want to give up the flexibility. Ken Jennings was okay and would probably get better. Aaron Rodgers and Dr. Oz did not impress me.
There are more celebs on the Jeopardy! hosting schedule. Entertainment Weekly reports that CNN anchor Anderson Cooper (top) is set to be the next guest host. He’ll take over for Aaron Rodgers on April 19th. Then 60 Minutes correspondent Bill Whitaker will host from May 3rd until the 14th. Actress Mayim Bialik will lead the show from May 31st until June 11th.
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie and CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta are also set to host but we don’t know exactly when. And there’s still a movement to make former Star Trek and Reading Rainbow star LeVar Burton the next host of Jeopardy! At the very least, he should get a tryout.
