Subjects Kids Wish They Could Learn In School
Parents send their kids to school to learn math, science, history and other academic subjects. But if kids had it their way, they would be learning entirely different subjects. That’s not really surprising, is it?
According to SWNS Digital, a new UK poll commissioned by Kingsmill asked 1,000 students ages six to 11 what subjects they’d like to learn in school. Clearly, many kids dream of being Internet famous, because the top school subject they want is “How to be a YouTube star.” Call it a sign of the times.
After that, the answers in the study became much less frivolous. Some of the subjects kids want to learn include, “how to look after pets,” “how to cook my favorite meal,” and “how to be recycle.” Those are good practical life skills. Other responses address more emotional needs, such as “how to be brave,” “how to be kind,” and “how to be proud of myself.” That last one breaks my heart.
