SouthPark Mall Getting Multi-Million Dollar Upgrades
You’ve heard of male enhancement? SouthPark is getting “mall enhancement.” WBTV reports that Simon Properties has announced a multi-million dollar redevelopment for SouthPark Mall that will include a new performance space, kids’ play area, and, because this is Charlotte, a brewery. Not a beer drinker? Don’t worry. You’ll also be able to get wine, seltzer, and cocktails.
The new upgrades will be added to the West Plaza. That’s the area between The Container Store and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Suffolk Punch Brewing will open its second location there. It will feature a full-service taphouse, restaurant, and coffee bar, as well as an all-seasons outdoor pavilion with two more bars. Hey, shopping can be stressful.
SouthPark Mall is planning to offer live entertainment throughout the year on a new stage adjacent to the pavilion. For the kids, an 1,850 square-foot state-of-the-art play area will be located on the opposite end of the West Plaza. It’s being designed for children of all ages and abilities. Construction on the new project is expected to begin in early 2022 and should be complete by late summer.
Shoppers will now be able to take a break, relax, and sip on a seasonal beer or curated cocktail while enjoying live music. https://t.co/InXJEpdNUC
