Hasbro Wants To Put Your Head On An Action Figure
If you’ve ever dreamed of being a superhero or an action star, Hasbro can get you one step closer to making that dream a reality. According to The Verge, the toy company has announced that you’ll soon be able to buy an action figure that looks exactly like you! The simple explanation is that Hasbro is 3D printing custom action figure heads.
It’s called the Hasbro Selfie Series. You’ll start by scanning your face on the Hasbro Pulse mobile app, which can be downloaded to Android and iOS devices. You can also customize your character and hairstyle. Then Hasbro works their magic and, eventually, you’ll receive a unique 3D printed action figure in your own likeness. Pretty cool, huh? I could see this being a very popular gift item.
While the process may be fairly simple, it isn’t cheap. Hasbro is charging about $60 for each of the tiny doppelgangers. The options for doll bodies include Star Wars figures, a few Marvel characters, two Ghostbusters, and two Power Ranger figures. I would go for a G.I. Joe action figure so I could have the “kung fu grip.”
There will only be a limited run of the Hasbro Selfie Series initially and the company is opening registration this fall. You can learn more about it HERE.
