North Carolina Home To ‘World’s Most Dangerous Hotel’
When you’re looking for a hotel to stay in, you usually look for a good price, comfort, and a central location. This hotel gives you none of that! Some guys decided to stay at Frying Pan Tower, which sits 35 miles off the coast of Cape Fear, North Carolina. The term ‘hotel’ is used loosely! Once a lighthouse the tower is now an important ecosystem for marine wildlife. It provides a beautiful view of the sun rising and setting over the Atlantic Ocean. The tower is only accessible by boat or helicopter.
Since being purchased in 2010, the tower has been significantly refurbished and inspected. Today it operates as a sort of water-locked bed and breakfast. According to MSN, the TikTok account @dtrzxl is run by a team of guys that visit and explore the world’s most extreme places. They decided to check out the Frying Pan Tower with the owner Richard Neal.
Many of us have seen the live cam of Frying Pan Tower online but actually seeing the inside is a trip. There is NO way I’d be able to stay here. Sharks, constant storms, out in the middle of the ocean, strong winds, and the structure is rusted all over! I’m out!
Although scary, the tower has a decent reputation with its visitors. Lots of folks go there to fish, while others go to study marine life. The guys that visited have documented their stay in five videos. I’ve posted the first one below. My anxiety cranks up just watching the first 30 seconds of the video!
