Emotional Wellness Month
Americans are mentally suffering and there’s not enough professional mental health professionals to fill the gap. The normal wait time is a few months and no one suffering can wait that long for an appointment. With the time change in November with less light, we’ll tend to go to bed earlier than normal leading into the holiday season. Stress is a normal biological and physiological response to a perceived threat or challenge. Contrary to what many people may think, stress is not inherently bad. We can’t put our emotional wellness on the back burner any longer. Here are some mental wellness tips to consider recommended by HopeWay non-profit residential and day treatment program.
- Journal or talk to someone supportive about your specific fears.
- Maybe use a ‘worry appointment’ to allow yourself 15 minutes or so to worry, then set those worries aside until tomorrow.
- Be compassionate with yourself and others.
