Rolling Stones: New LP in the Works to Feature Charlie Watts
The Rolling Stones have been putting in some hard work on a new album, and that future LP will feature their late drummer Charlie Watts.
Ronnie Wood shared with U.K.’s The Sun, “We are recording the new album now and we are going to LA in a few weeks to carry it on and finish it off. Charlie is on some of the tracks and drummer Steve Jordan.” Watts, of course, died in August 2021 at age 80.
The last studio album the Stones released was 2016’s Blue & Lonesome, which was a covers album of blues songs. The last LP of original material from the legendary band came in 2005 with A Bigger Bang.
The Rolling Stones have released original material since 2005 that was included on greatest hits compilations, like “Doom & Gloom” and “One More Shot” from 2012’s GRRR! In the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, the band also released the stand-alone single “Living in a Ghost Town.”
