Bryan Cranston Is Open To A ‘Malcolm In The Middle’ Revival
Before he was Walter White on Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston starred as the much more lovable dad, Hal Wilkerson, on the beloved Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle from 2000 to 2006. According to Deadline, Bryan says he’d be up for a ‘Malcolm In The Middle’ reunion. He has even proposed a revival of the show in the form of a movie and has been exploring script ideas.
Cranston said, “We had such a great family on that, and I certainly would be open to that if there was a good idea that came up like, ‘Oh, that would be fantastic to explore what happened to this family 20 years later.’ I can’t believe it’s already that, but that would be fun to do.”
Frankie Muniz, who played Malcolm, also expressed his desire to know what the Wilkerson family is up to nearly twenty years later. Muniz said he has since re-watched the series with his wife and realized what they had made on that show. Frankie would have to find the time to step away from his new career as a NASCAR driver. Muniz, who grew up in Knightdale, North Carolina, recently announced that he is racing full-time for Mooresville-based Rette Jones Racing in the ARCA series.
The original Malcolm in the Middle cast also included Jane Kaczmarek as mom Lois. Along with Frankie Muniz, the other Wilkerson kids were played by Christopher Masterson (Francis), Justin Berfield (Reese), Erik Per Sullivan (Dewey), and James and Lukas Rodriguez (Jamie). No word on if they’d all be on board for a reboot but, if this were to work, they would sort of have to be, wouldn’t they?
