The “Lost & Found” at a public library must be full of all sorts of things. Think about it. Lots of people come in every day to browse the stacks, read books and magazines, do homework, and use the computers. And these people bring stuff with them, some of which gets left behind. Apparently, water bottles are high on that list at one library in Michigan.

According to WZZM-TV, what started out as a joke has become a popular display at The Kent District Library – Caledonia Township Branch in Michigan. The library says its “Lost Water Bottles of Summertime” community display has taken off and has been viewed by over a million people on Facebook.

Assistant branch librarian Sam Holland says they came up with the idea after not having an idea for the October display. They put up twelve bottles and tumblers left behind by visitors this summer. The bottles are behind glass, and each has been labelled like a work of art you’d see in a museum. I’m especially fond of “Siren Song” – Plastic and vinyl adhesive.
