Charlotte Woman Spreading Love To Widows On Valentine’s Day
I will tell you upfront: you may need some tissues for this story. It’s incredibly sweet, generous and caring. A woman here in Charlotte makes sure local widows receive some happiness for Valentine’s Day by surprising them with flowers.
According to WCNC, Ashley Manning’s goal is to spread love. And she’s been doing that since 2020. Manning Manning accidentally started the Valentine’s Day widows outreach project in when she decided to make and deliver flowers to her son’s preschool teacher. She heard the teacher had recently lost her husband to cancer.
The teacher was so touched by the gesture, Manning wanted to make others happy. In 2021 she asked people to nominate widows to get free flower deliveries. She thought she would have a few nominations, but the number was large. About 125 people. Manning’s caring acts then received national attention. And then nominations came pouring in.
‘Pretty Things by A.E. Manning’ developed The Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach, and yearly 100’s of widows are shown love on Valentine’s Day. Flowers and gift baskets are delivered all over the Charlotte area, making people smile.
On Manning’s website it says that this year they are hoping to surprise 800 widows! Manning’s perfect bouquet is replicated and tons of volunteers help to spread the message of love. This is such an amazing thing to do! Small, thoughtful acts of kindness can do so much for someone!
Numerous businesses in and around Charlotte now make donations. The Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach Co is a 501c(3) Non-Profit organization. If you’d like to make a donation or if you’d like to volunteer, all the info you need is here. You can also nominate a widow as well.
What an amazing lady doing amazing things! Love it!
