KFC’s Iconic Double Down Sandwich Returns

In 2010, KFC introduced the Double Down Sandwich, and sold 10 million of them in the first month. Now the cult favorite is back, and folks are stoked.
If you’re unfamiliar with the sandwich, it’s a monster. It features two of KFC’s Extra Crispy white meat filets, two slices of cheese, two pieces of hickory-smoked bacon, and mayo or the Colonel’s spicy sauce. No bun in this sandwich.
According to MSN, the sandwich will be available beginning March 6 nationwide. But it will only stay on the KFC menus for a limited time. The huge sandwich will only have a four-week run. I remember when the sandwich came out originally, but I never tried it. I honestly cannot remember the last time I ate at a KFC. However, for whatever reason, I really want to try this! I’m thinking Phil and I may have to do a video taste test.
If you’re on the Keto diet, this is a sandwich that is all for you! No bread makes it lower in carbs. Of course, the chicken is breaded and fried so that’s carbs and calories. I’m a bread fan, so I’m interested in trying the popular breadless sandwich.
If you don’t want to wait until Monday, March 6 to get your hands on the Double Down, KFC is hosting a special Double Down Drop on March 5. Select fans get early access to the Double Down Sandwich. Sign up at
www.kfcdoubledowndrop.com, starting on March 2. Definitely act quickly as sign-ups are on a first-come, first-serve basis to the first 2,014 customers — in honor of the Double Down’s last appearance on KFC’s U.S. menus.
